This tutorial from The Potomac Bead Company continues from the previous wire ring making a video and shows you some advanced techniques to use when designing your rings, still using your choice of wire and beads.

  • Artistic wire (20 or 22 gauge)
  • Beads (various sizes, including some without holes)
  • Wire wrapping tools
  • Ring mandrel

    Quick Project Steps

    Basic Ring with Extra Wraps:
    Start with the basic two-band ring design.
    Add extra wire on the sides and wrap around the bead multiple times for a "nest" effect.
    Setting a Bead Without a Hole: Create a base with two bands.
    Use four wires to make prongs and set the bead in place.
    Wrapped Band Technique:
    Begin with a long piece of wire and place a bead.
    Use a thinner wire (24 gauge) to wrap around the thicker wire, coiling it tightly before wrapping around the mandrel.
