    Quick Project Steps

Prep thread & layout: Cut ~2–3 ft thread. Thread your needle, leave a ~6" tail or use a stop bead. Lay out 5 rondelles and seed beads for easy pickup. String the foundation ring: String: 11/0 → rondelle → 11/0 → rondelle → 11/0 … until you have 5 rondelles separated by 11/0s. Slide them down leaving a tail. Bring ends together and sew through the first few beads to close the ring into a loop. Reinforce the loop: Sew back through all rondelles and separating 11/0s once (or twice) to stabilize the circular base. Pull snug — the ring should sit firm but not crushed. Add ladder-stitch interior rows: Exit an 11/0 between two rondelles. Pick up 2 × 11/0, sew into the next 11/0 gap to create a ladder rung. Repeat around to add one interior ladder row that tightens the opening and begins the star shaping. Fold/shape the star points: After the ladder row, fold the beadwork inward per the video method: pick up a short set of seed beads and pass through adjacent rondelle holes so the rondelles tilt outward, forming five star points. Reinforce by sewing through the newly formed joins. Add crystals between rondelles: Exit the outer 11/0 near a rondelle, pick up 15/0 → crystal (2–3 mm) → 15/0 (or simply 11/0 → crystal → 11/0) and sew into the opposite side bead to nest the crystal between two neighboring rondelles. Repeat between each pair for sparkle. Build bottom/depth layer (optional): If you want more dimension, add an extra row of 11/0s or small rondelles under the main ring (pick up 11/0 → small rondelle → 11/0 and sew through matching spots) to create a layered look. Attach the wire guard: Exit the topmost bead where the ear will hang. Add 2–3 × 11/0, pass through the wire guard, then back through adjacent beads and the guard again. Make 2–3 passes to lock it solidly. Reinforce & tie off: Do 2–3 reinforcement passes through the entire earring — ring, ladder rows, crystal bridges, and the wire guard. Bury the tail through 4–6 beads, make a small weaver’s knot if desired, trim, and zap (if using synthetic thread). Finish & pair match: Add the ear wire to the guard, check symmetry, and repeat for the second earring matching bead counts and tension so both hang identically.
