    Quick Project Steps

Prep & stop (optional): Thread ~2–3 ft. Tie a temporary stop bead near the end or leave a short tail so beads don’t slide. Make the ladder base (pie edge): String pairs to form a short ladder: crust bead → crust bead → repeat until you have a small straight ladder (about 6–8 pairs depending on desired slice width). Fold the ladder and sew back through to stabilize the first row. Turn ladder into the first brick row (crust): Use brick stitch: exit the ladder bridge, pick up 1 crust bead, sew under the bridge thread and back through the new bead to lock it in place. Repeat across to form the crust row that will become the top of the slice. Build the filling with single-drop brick rows: Switch to pumpkin/orange beads. For each new row, add one bead per bridge (single-drop brick) and step down/over as brick stitch requires, shaping the triangle by gradually decreasing row length toward the tip. Keep edges straight — this forms the triangular pie wedge. Transition to two-drop rows for faster shaping: As you approach mid-slice, use two-drop brick stitch (pick up 2 beads, secure across the next bridge) to widen or shape faster where the design needs bulk. Continue decreasing to form the pie point. Form the pie tip and finish the base: When the triangle reaches the desired point, finish the last row, sew back through the adjacent beads to tighten the tip and stabilize the shape. Add whipped-cream accent: At the pie tip or along the crust edge, pick up a cluster of white 11/0s (e.g., 3–5 beads in a small loop) and tack them on with a pass through base beads so they sit as a tiny “whipped cream” dollop. Add a tiny crystal or lighter bead at the top if desired. Reinforce & tidy threads: Do 1–2 reinforcement passes through critical seams (crust → filling join, pie tip, and whipped-cream anchor). Bring thread to the back, bury through several bead bridges, tie small weaver’s knot(s) if desired, trim, and zap/melt tail. Attach wire guard & ear wire: Exit a top crust bead; add 2–3 × 11/0 then pass through the wire guard, back through adjacent beads and the guard again (2 passes). Close ear wire onto guard (open sideways) and check hang. Final check & pair matching: Make the second earring mirroring the first (work in pairs or copy counts). Inspect symmetry, tighten any loose beads, and enjoy!
