    Quick Project Steps

Prep thread & pick beads: Cut ~3.5 ft thread, thread needle. Lay out StormDuos, 11/0 and 15/0s, 4 mm bicones and the RounDuo Minis. String the starter row (4 pairs): String: (StormDuo pair) → 11/0 → (StormDuo pair) → 11/0 → (StormDuo pair) → 11/0 → (StormDuo pair) → 11/0. Slide to end, leave a short tail. Use tail as stop: Pass the tail through the second hole of one StormDuo (or use a stop bead) so the beads won’t slide while you shape the circle. Form the circle & reinforce: Bring the strand into a circle by sewing back through the first pair(s) and all 11/0s. Make at least one extra reinforcement pass so the base is stable; keep StormDuos all facing the same direction. Move to second holes: Exit a 11/0 then hop into the second hole of a StormDuo (the hole you’ll use for the upper/lower build). You’ll now work around the inside adding crystals and connector beads. Add bicones + RounDuo Mini connectors: Between each StormDuo pair add: 4 mm bicone → (15/0 – RounDuo Mini – 15/0), working the pattern around so each bicone sits between two StormDuos and each RounDuo Mini is framed with 15/0s. Create seed-bead arches around each bicone: When exiting a bicone, pick up 2 × 15/0 → 11/0 → 2 × 15/0, circle through the bicone again, then sew through the adjacent StormDuo and the nearby RounDuo Mini as shown. This builds the lacey edge. Add side 3×15/0 groups to RounDuo Minis: From the RounDuo Mini exit, add 3 × 15/0, go through the closest 11/0 (you may need an angle), then back through the first two 15/0 you added, add one more 15/0 and return through the RounDuo Mini — this gives the little clustered bits that “pop” the center 11/0. Build the upper StormDuo layer: Hop to the second hole of the RounDuo Mini and attach additional StormDuos across the top: pick up StormDuo → 11/0 (or 8/0 as spacer) → connect into the RounDuo Mini hole, then add three 15/0 decorative beads on the StormDuo side, repeat around. These StormDuos will cup the RounDuo Mini. Decorate outer StormDuo sides: Add 4 × 15/0 on each outer side of StormDuos (as little “bunny ear” clusters), drop a bicone between groups when indicated, then climb up through those 15/0s to tidy and shape the edge. Attach the wire guard: At the top component, add two 15/0s, pass through the wire guard, come back through the opposite side and reinforce by passing through the guard a second time. Adjust guard so it nests nicely in the beads. Final reinforcement & finish: Go around and stitch through all outer seed-bead groups once more to connect them (this tidies the edges). Tie a secure knot, bury thread, trim and zap tails. Make sure bicones are oriented with holes horizontal for symmetry. Attach ear wire to the wire guard.
