    Quick Project Steps

Glue setup: Put a small dab of E6000 into the hammered ring and seat the 10 mm cabochon in the center. Let the glue set until it's tacky (follow glue instructions). Mount to felt: Glue the back of the ring/cabochon assembly onto a felt circle sized slightly larger than the ring. Press flat and allow to dry enough to stitch (a few minutes until tacky). Start inner Delica bezel: Thread your needle and stitch Delicas around the cabochon’s edge (peyote-style or simple ladder→peyote) so the beads snugly hug the cabochon. Pull tight but not so tight the cabochon pops. Add 11/0 stabilizer round: After the Delica row, add a round of 11/0s to create a smooth transition from cabochon to outer embroidery. Add 15/0 finishing round: Stitch a final row of 15/0s to tighten the bezel and finish the inner edge neatly. Build outer rim decoration: Work outward from the bezel: add Delicas/11/0 combos or picot points (e.g., 2–3 × 15/0 + 11/0 + 2–3 × 15/0) to form the decorative outer ring shown in the video. Adjust spacing so the hammered ring edge is framed evenly. Attach ultra-backer: Once beadwork is complete around the metal, glue the ultra-backer to the felt back to hide stitches and add rigidity. Let cure per glue instructions. Add wire guard: Stitch the wire guard into the top of the beadwork with multiple passes of 11/0s/15/0s so it’s locked solidly into the design. Reinforce by sewing through a few adjacent beads and through the guard at least twice. Finish threads: Bury/chain the thread tail through inner bead bridges, make a small sewer’s knot or two, then trim. If using synthetic thread, zap or apply fray fixer carefully. Attach ear wire & final tidy: Slip ear wire onto the wire guard (open sideways), close, then check symmetry, tighten any loose beads, and clean off any glue residue.
