  • Peyote Stitch Instructions
This tutorial from PotomacBeads demonstrates how to use various seed beads to do peyote stitch. Peyote stitch is a bead weaving concept which allows beads to be laid in various patterns with needle and thread. You can use various sizes of beads including delicas, 6/0, 8/0, 11/0, 15/0, triangles, cubes, and more. This is also a useful class to learn for many other seed beading or beadweaving classes, including seed bead toggles, circular peyote, embellishing, diagonal peyote, hollow peyote, maga-scale bracelet, and more!

Materials Used To make The  Project

Quick Project Steps

Prepare Your Materials: Assemble your beads, thread, and needle. Attach a stop bead to your thread.
Start the Stitch: Pick up six silver beads and drop them next to the stop bead. Alternate colors for the following rows.
Build the Pattern: Add one bead at a time, skipping over one bead and passing through the next.
Alternate silver and gold beads for visual interest. Continue the Peyote Stitch: As you add more rows, the pattern will become more apparent, and the beads will align correctly.
Finish the Project: Continue adding beads until you reach the desired length. Finish off the ends securely.
