The Thankful Duo Pendant tutorial guides jewelry makers through creating an elegant beaded pendant featuring a 14mm Rivoli secured within a peyote-stitched bezel. The design combines metallic and matte seed beads, 3mm bicones, and SuperDuos to build a decorative, dimensional setting that beautifully frames the central crystal. Chris demonstrates how to construct and reinforce the bezel before adding a ladder-stitched bail to the back of the pendant. The tutorial also explores how to use leftover beads to create a coordinating necklace, allowing makers to complete a matching jewelry set.

    Quick Project Steps

Create the Beaded Foundation: Using approximately 3 feet of size 6 thread, string 24 size 8/0 seed beads into a ring. Pass through the beads again, tie off, and leave a short tail. Build the First Peyote Rows: Work peyote stitch around the ring using matte 11/0 seed beads. Add the next row to begin forming a cup for the back of the rivoli. Add the Metallic Border: Work around the opposite side of the foundation, adding 12 metallic 11/0 seed beads. Create the Crisscross Structure: Add groups of metallic and matte 11/0 seed beads to form the decorative framework around the setting. Set the Rivoli: Place the 14 mm rivoli into the bezel. Add three matte 11/0 seed beads between the existing groups and reinforce the beadwork several times to secure the crystal. Add Bicones and SuperDuos: Embellish each side with 3 mm bicones, SuperDuos, and metallic 11/0 seed beads, repeating the pattern around all four sides. Complete the Decorative Details: Add matte 11/0 seed beads above the SuperDuos and between the bicones. Finish with an additional metallic seed bead between the beads separating the bicones. Create the Pendant Loop: On the back, use ladder stitch to create a loop with six rows of two matte 11/0 seed beads. Attach it securely to the beadwork and reinforce the connection. Finish the Pendant: Retrace the thread path, tie off, and secure the remaining thread. Make the Coordinating Necklace: String the leftover beads in a pattern of your choice, adding SuperDuo drops with 11/0 seed beads. Keep the area around the pendant loop clear so the pendant hangs properly, then finish with the clasp and findings.
