Golden Tiger Pendant Tutorial

The Golden Tiger Pendant is created by combining 6mm disco ball rounds, 6mm tiger eye beads, 2mm crystals, and Miyuki seed beads using right angle weave and netting techniques. The design begins with a square base of disco ball rounds and 8/0 seed beads, followed by a netted layer of tiger eye beads and seed beads that is expanded with additional disco balls and crystals to create the pendant’s diamond shape. The upper section is then constructed with seed beads and crystals to form a reinforced bail for attaching a cord. After reinforcing and securing the beadwork, the thread is tied off and trimmed, and the pendant can be customized with darker tiger eye tones, lighter crystal combinations, additional 8/0 beads, or extra crystals for more color and sparkle.

    Quick Project Steps

Prepare the Thread: Cut approximately 4 feet of size 6 Dragon Thread and add an 8/0 seed bead followed by a 6mm disco ball round. Repeat four times. Create the Base: Join the beads into a tight square by tying the thread securely, then weave through the 8/0 seed bead to begin the next section. Add the Tiger Eye: Create the netting pattern by adding 11/0, 8/0, 11/0, followed by a 6mm tiger eye bead. Repeat this pattern around the four sides. Build the Second Row: Reinforce the beadwork, then add another 11/0 seed bead, a 6mm disco ball round, and another 11/0 between the existing tiger eye beads. Add the Crystals: Work around the tiger eye beads again, adding an 11/0, 8/0, 11/0 combination with a 2mm crystal in the center. Shape the Pendant: Continue the repeated pattern around all four sides, pulling the thread evenly so the square gradually forms a diamond-shaped pendant. Create the Top Section: Add three 11/0 seed beads above the pendant and connect them through the 2mm crystal and upper tiger eye bead to begin forming the bail. Form the Bail: Use the beadwork to create a small loop at the top, then reinforce the connection by passing the thread back through the surrounding beads and gemstone. Reinforce the Design: Run the thread around the outer row once more to give the pendant additional structure and stiffness. Finish and Customize: Weave the thread back into the design, tie it off, trim the excess with a thread burner, and pass a cord through the bail. Customize the look by using more tiger eye for a darker pendant, more crystal for a lighter design, or additional beads for extra color and sparkle.
