The Halo Link Necklace tutorial shows how to use open halo beads as lightweight, decorative links instead of filling them with beadwork. The design combines pearls, rondelles, faceted metal beads, and seed beads, with each section securely connected using thread. Multiple halo links are joined to form the necklace, then the back is extended with rondelles and finished with a lobster clasp. The technique offers a simple and creative way to create an airy necklace while allowing plenty of room for different bead and color combinations.

    Quick Project Steps

Prepare the materials Gather the halo beads, rondelles, pearls, faceted metal beads, seed beads, thread, needle, and lobster clasp. Thread the needle Use a piece of scrap beading thread and leave enough length to create and secure each link. Create the first link String three pearls followed by a faceted metal bead, then pass the thread through the first halo bead. Add the second spacer Place another faceted metal bead on the opposite side of the halo to frame the pearl section. Reinforce the link Pass the needle back through the pearls and metal spacer, then pull the thread tight so the beadwork sits neatly inside the halo. Connect the next halo Pass the thread through the next halo bead and use a seed bead or metal spacer as a stopper before tying the threads together. Secure and trim Tie the two thread ends together and carefully burn the excess thread close to the beadwork. Repeat the link pattern Continue adding halos with three pearls and metal spacers, connecting each section in the same way until the necklace reaches the desired length. Create the back section Use rondelles to extend the necklace from the final halo, following the same connection technique and reinforcing the thread path. Attach the clasp and finish Secure the lobster clasp, reinforce the connection, tie off the remaining thread, and burn the ends for a clean finish.
