Flower Gem Earrings Tutorial

Compliments will abound when you wear Tereza's Flower Gem Soutache Earrings. This is a great design if you're thinking about trying soutche as it is not a complicated design. Tereza uses Czech Petal beads, Seed Beads, Delicas, and Potomac Crystal Rivolis in this beading project. Technique Learned: Soutache Peyote Stitch The Designer's suggested colors and materials:
  • Czech Petals 8x7mm - White Funky Blue, ~10 Pieces
  • Potomac Crystal Rivoli 12mm - Blue Zircon, ~2 Pieces
  • Miyuki Delica 11/0 - Duracoat Galvanized Sea Foam, ~1 Gram
  • Miyuki Seed Beads 15/0 - Galvanized Gold, ~1 Gram
  • Miyuki Seed Beads 11/0 - Labrador Full, ~1 Gram
  • Czech Soutache - Light Blue, ~2 Meters
  • Flat Pad Posts 6mm - Stainless Steel, ~1 Pair

This easy to follow pattern is perfect for those thinking about adding Soutache to their beading skills. With stunning results, this design is perfect for any special occasion! Collect the materials needed for the project including Potomac Crystal rivolis, Miyuki seed beads and Delicas and some Czech Soutache. You will begin by bezelling the Rivoli with 32 Delica beads. Watch the Flower Gem earrings tutorial to follow along with Tereza. You will be working with 4 strand of braided soutache at one time, measuring them around the bezelled crystal. Use Silver thread to match the soutache. Make sure to align the braids in the same direction. Attach the soutache to the inside row of Delicas. Use the Czech petal beads to create a flower for the top of your earring. The earring post will be attached to the back of the petals. Use seed beads to decorate the center of the flower. Attach leather to the back of the earring to hold everything in place. Once again, Tereza brings us a pair of glamorous earrings.     I love everything about Potomac beads, except for the dragon fire white thread. I bought the time before it was a 250 spool and I bought 5 pound because the 6 pound I had was just humongous you've done some changing with your threads since the last time I bought some. I fell and broke my right arm and my rotator cuff and wasn't able to be for quite a while. I just pulled out the 5 pound white thread. I bought the time before and tried it. I don't even think I could bezel with it. The 6 pound does beautiful. I took one arm span of thread off the spool and I won't be using it. It's a shame because I truly love yours thread.
