Square Stitch Tutorial

This tutorial from PotomacBeads shows you how to do 'square stitch,' which is a beadweaving or seed beading technique used in jewelry-making. In this particular video we use 3mm Miyuki cubes to illustrate the technique, but, you can use square stitch with any seed beads, delica beads, round beads, and more.

    Quick Project Steps

    Prepare Your Materials: Gather 3mm Miyuki cube beads, 0.006 Wildfire thread, a beading needle, and a stop bead.
    Start with a Stop Bead: Attach a stop bead to your thread to prevent beads from slipping off.
    Thread the First Row of Beads: Add four 3mm cube beads to your thread, deciding the width of your pattern.
    Begin Adding Subsequent Beads: Slide a bead down next to the existing row, pass the needle back through the last bead of the previous row to align the new bead directly above.
    Continue the Pattern: Keep adding beads, ensuring each new bead sits atop the corresponding bead in the row below. Use the needle to weave the thread through beads from left to right and then right to left to secure the pattern.
    Finish Your Design: Continue the process until you reach the desired length of your beaded creation.
    Finish off by weaving the thread back through several beads to secure and trim any excess thread.

    I don't like seeing my choices on only half of my screen. Completing the other half of the screen is annoying. When looking for something specific it takes me forever. Have to find what category there in. But I'm in my 70's, if that's why.

    I found it confusing with all the "upgrade options. I hope I am getting a complete kits which I do not have to buy crystals or clasps to complete my projects. I am hoping the add one only give me more options for my kits. Potomac beads patterns are really beautiful so fingers crossed I will like the kits subscription.
