NEW: BeadOnIt Boards - Onyx Limited Edition

Wonderful Light Bracelet Tutorial

The Wonderful Light Bracelet tutorial demonstrates how to create an elegant beaded bracelet using Iris Duo beads, 3 mm Miyuki bugle beads, seed beads, and 3 mm bicone crystals. The design begins with a right-angle weave pattern that connects the Iris Duos and bugle beads to form the bracelet’s foundation, with careful attention to bead orientation and sizing. Bicone crystals and additional seed beads are then woven into the structure to create a sparkling decorative pattern. The bracelet is further enhanced with delicate picot edging made from 15/0 seed beads, adding texture and detail along both sides. After attaching the clasp, the beadwork is reinforced by retracing the thread through the embellishments, and the remaining thread is secured and trimmed. By experimenting with lighter or darker bead combinations, makers can personalize the finished bracelet while maintaining its distinctive pattern and elegant appearance.

    Quick Project Steps

Prepare the Materials: Gather Iris Duo beads, 3 mm Miyuki bugle beads, 8/0, 11/0, and 15/0 seed beads, 3 mm bicone crystals, size 8 Dragon Thread, and a size 12 needle. Start the Foundation: Pick up an Iris Duo and two 11/0 seed beads, then pass through the other hole of the Iris Duo to secure the initial connection. A stop bead is optional. Create the Main Pattern: Use right-angle weave to connect the Iris Duos with an 11/0 seed bead, a 3 mm bugle bead, and another 11/0 seed bead. Keep the rounded side of each Iris Duo facing upward. Build the Bracelet Length: Repeat the bead pattern until you reach your desired wrist size. Finish the end with a bugle bead and two 11/0 seed beads to make clasp attachment easier. Add the First Crystal Row: Pick up a 15/0 seed bead, a bicone crystal, an 11/0 seed bead, another bicone crystal, and a 15/0 seed bead. Stitch through the next bugle bead and repeat along the bracelet. Fill the Remaining Spaces: Work back along the bracelet, adding bicone crystals and 11/0 seed beads in the unfilled spaces. Reuse the existing 15/0 seed beads where possible rather than adding duplicates. Attach the Clasp: Use the 11/0 seed beads at the bracelet end to connect your chosen clasp. Secure the connection and continue through the beadwork as needed. Create the Picot Edging: Between the bicone crystals, add three 15/0 seed beads at each designated 11/0 seed bead. Pass through the connecting bead again to form small decorative points. Repeat Along Both Sides: Continue adding picots and connecting the crystal sections along both edges. Maintain even thread tension so the bracelet stays flexible and the embellishments sit neatly. Reinforce and Finish: Retrace the thread path through the crystals, seed beads, and picots without adding new beads. Tie off the thread, carefully trim or burn the excess, and inspect the finished bracelet.
