Pie Shop Bracelet Tutorial

The Pie Shop Bracelet is created by forming individual pie-shaped components with PieDuo beads, 11/0 seed beads, Miyuki drops, and crystals, then connecting each pie to build the bracelet. The design begins by threading the PieDuo with an 11/0, drop, and 11/0 combination around the bead before completing the center and adding an outer edge of seed beads and crystals, adjusting the bead count as needed to keep the component flat. Additional pies are constructed and connected by sharing existing beads and crystals, allowing the bracelet to grow to the desired length. Once the beadwork is complete, an Athena Cast metal cup button is attached and reinforced with multiple thread passes, while the opposite end is finished with a seed-bead button loop sized to fit the clasp. The bracelet is secured by weaving and trimming the remaining thread, with optional side connections using crystals for additional structure or a more decorative finish.

    Quick Project Steps

Prepare the Thread: Cut about 5 ft of size 6 Dragon Thread, add a temporary stop bead, and thread a size 10 needle. Create the First Pie: Pick up a PieDuo, then add an 11/0 seed bead, a 3.4mm Miyuki drop, and another 11/0. Repeat this pattern around the PieDuo four times. Complete the Pie Center: Add an additional 11/0 seed bead to connect the first and last sections, creating the full pie shape. Build the Outer Edge: Work around the outside using two 11/0 seed beads and a crystal between each section. Adjust the bead count if needed so the pie lays flat. Start the Next Pie: Use a crystal from the first pie as the connection point, then begin the second pie with 11/0 seed beads, PieDuos, and drops. Connect the Pies: Join the second pie back to the first by sharing existing beads and crystals. Continue building and connecting additional pies until you reach the desired bracelet length. Add the Button: Attach the Athena Cast metal cup button using seed beads and reinforce the connection with multiple thread passes, since the clasp receives the most tension. Create the Button Loop: On the opposite end, build a loop using crystals and approximately 20 seed beads, adjusting the number to fit your button. Secure the Thread: Tie off the thread between the beads, weave it back through the design, and trim or burn the excess carefully. Customize the Bracelet: Optionally add crystals between the drops along the sides for additional connections, or leave the pies open for a more flexible design.
