NEW: BeadOnIt Boards - Onyx Limited Edition

Interchangable Strung Bracelets Tutorial

In this creative jewelry-making tutorial, Ally demonstrates how to design versatile, mix-and-match interchangeable bracelets and necklaces using an innovative focal clip clasp. Rather than crafting a single static piece, viewers are inspired to build a dynamic collection of individual beaded strands that can be effortlessly attached, rearranged, or swapped depending on daily outfit choices or mood. By cleverly repurposing small toggle bar loops, crimp tubes, and an oval clip clasp from a subscription box, this technique opens up endless artistic possibilities to unlock your bead stash, experiment with bold textures, and construct custom multi-strand statement pieces.

    Quick Project Steps

Gather Hardware and Supplies: Collect an oval clip clasp, small toggle loops (repurposing just the ring ends), crimp tubes, flexible jewelry wire, flush wire cutters, and your preferred assortment of beads. Cut Your Working Wire: Measure and cut a length of flexible jewelry wire using wire cutters, leaving extra length at both ends for crimping and looping. Thread the First Connector End: Slide a crimp tube onto the wire, pass the wire through the ring of a toggle loop, and loop the wire tail back through the crimp tube. Crimp and Trim the Start: Pull the wire taut so the loop fits snugly around the toggle ring, flatten the crimp tube securely, and snip the excess tail using wire cutters. String Your Bead Design: Add your chosen beads onto the working wire to build out your strand's pattern. Ensure Consistent Strand Length: Measure the beaded strand against a fixed template length to guarantee all interchangeable strands fit identically around the wrist or neck. Thread the Second Connector End: Slide a crimp tube and a second toggle ring onto the open wire end, then feed the wire back down into the crimp tube. Crimp and Trim the Finish: Pull the wire snug to eliminate slack between beads, crimp the tube flat to lock it, and cut off the excess wire tail. Build Additional Strands (or Double Up): Repeat steps 2 through 8 to create multiple colored strands; if you plan to wear specific strands together, attach two wire ends into a single crimp tube/toggle loop to save space. Assemble on the Focal Clasp: Open the oval clip clasp, load the toggle loops of up to 5 strands into the clip, and snap it closed to complete your custom piece.
