    Quick Project Steps

Start the First Peyote Strip: Using size 8 thread, pick up three Delica beads. Pass back through the first bead, then continue adding beads and stitching back through the previous beads to build a two-wide peyote strip. Build the Ring Band: Continue the peyote stitch until the strip is long enough to fit around your finger. Keep the thread tension firm so no extra thread shows along the edges. Create the Second Strip: Start a new thread and make a second peyote strip using the same technique. Aim for approximately the same length as the first band. Align Both Strips: Position the two peyote strips side by side, with their ends oriented in opposite directions to make adjustments easier. Add the Center Pearls: Pick up a 2 mm pearl and stitch diagonally across from one peyote strip to the other, placing the pearl between the bands. Continue Connecting the Strips: Add more pearls, stitching diagonally through the corresponding Delica beads on each side to create a continuous decorative center line. Adjust the Bead Spacing: If the pearls become too crowded, skip a Delica bead where needed. Make sure to skip the corresponding bead on the opposite strip so the center line stays aligned. Prepare the Ring Closure: Once the pearl line reaches the end, bring the two ends of the peyote strips together. Adjust the beads if necessary so the peyote pattern matches on both sides. Join the Ends: Stitch the peyote rows together diagonally, connecting the beads like building blocks. Repeat on both sides and reinforce the seam to close any gaps. Secure and Finish: Weave the remaining thread through several rows of peyote stitch, secure it within the beadwork, and carefully trim and burn the thread ends to complete the ring.
