  • Make a Laterum Collar Necklace
This video tutorial from The Potomac Bead Company teaches you how to make our own "Laterum Collar" necklace. The word "laterum" is latin for "tile" and this necklace uses a mix of either Miyuki Tila (or Czech Tile) beads, Czech SuperDuo Beads, Czech Rizo beads, and Miyuki seed beads. Enjoy!

Materials Used To make The  Project

Quick Project Steps

Begin by attaching a stop bead to your thread, leaving enough tail for the extender chain.
Start the pattern with Miyuki 11/0 seed beads, followed by size 8/0 seed beads to form the base structure.
Introduce Tila beads, alternating with the seed bead patterns to create the necklace's body.
Incorporate SuperDuo beads in the second row, flanking them with 11/0 seed beads for added dimension.
Add another layer of Tila beads in the third row, repeating the pattern to enhance the necklace's curvature.
For the fringe, attach Rizo beads using 11/0 seed beads, ensuring the necklace lays flat.
Construct the extender chain with 11/0 seed beads and secure the clasp for adjustable wearing.
