The Super Orbit Necklace tutorial guides beaders through the process of creating a stunning, circular statement necklace using a variety of SuperDuos, 11/0 seed beads, and color-coordinated thread. The necklace is built using progressively larger loops of SuperDuos, starting with 6, then 8, 10, and finally 12 beads per loop, interconnected with right-angle weave units. Each loop is edged with varying counts of seed beads to maintain the circular form, creating a graduated and rhythmic visual flow. The design finishes with a wire guard and a clasp of your choice, and is ideal for both beginners looking to practice structured repetition and intermediates wanting a polished, wearable piece.

    Quick Project Steps

Add Stop Bead: Add a stop bead to prevent beads from slipping off while stitching. Create First Loop (6 SuperDuos): String 6 SuperDuos in a circle using right-angle weave. Reinforce the loop and exit through the top hole of one SuperDuo. Add Seed Bead Edging: Add 2 seed beads between each top hole to shape and secure the circle. Create Second Loop (8 SuperDuos): Add a new loop of 8 SuperDuos next to the first, connecting it with the previous loop’s edge. Exit through a top hole and add seed bead edging. Continue Loop Growth: Create loops of 10, then 12 SuperDuos, following the same structure. Use increasing seed bead counts between SuperDuos (e.g., 2–3–4) to maintain curvature. Mirror the Pattern Back Down: After the 12-SuperDuo loop, decrease loop sizes: 10 → 8 → 6. Add Clasp: Attach a wire guard and clasp to the end using seed beads for spacing. Reinforce and Knot: Reinforce thread paths throughout. Tie off thread ends securely with half-hitch knots. Burn or weave in the ends. Repeat for Other Side (Optional): If symmetrical, repeat the same loop pattern on the opposite side.
