The Unicycle Earrings tutorial demonstrates how to bezel a 14mm rivoli using SuperDuos, 15/0 and 11/0 seed beads in a design that resembles a spinning unicycle wheel. The project begins by forming a base ring of SuperDuos separated by 15/0s, then layering additional SuperDuos to build up the bezel structure. Alternating 15/0 and 11/0 seed beads are added to create a spiral pattern and visual interest. The unique spoke-like look is achieved with "prongs" made from 11/0 seed beads that arch inward, giving the piece dimension and securing the rivoli. A final round of joining these prongs tightens the bezel, and a wire guard is added to attach the earring to ear wires. The design is beginner-friendly yet stylish and customizable.

    Quick Project Steps

Start the Base Circle: String 8 SuperDuos and 8 size 15/0 seed beads alternately. Tie into a ring and pass through to reinforce. Step Up: Exit a SuperDuo and step up into its second hole to begin the next layer. Add Second Row of SuperDuos: Between each existing SuperDuo, add 2 new SuperDuos, skipping over the 15/0s. Create the Bezel Layer: Step up into the second hole of a newly added SuperDuo. Then, add one 15/0 followed by one 11/0 between each SuperDuo around the circle. Form the Prongs: Exit through an 11/0, string 4 more 11/0s and skip one SuperDuo to pass through the next 11/0, forming an arched "prong." Repeat this all the way around. Tighten and Add the Rivoli: Pull the thread gently after each prong so the shape cups in. After completing all prongs, insert the 14mm rivoli crystal into the center and tighten. Secure the Crystal: Go around the outer 11/0 prong loops again to reinforce and ensure the rivoli is snug. Add a Wire Guard Loop: Exit through a top 11/0 and attach a wire guard with 2–3 seed beads. Reinforce the loop and tie off your thread securely. Finish: Attach an ear wire to the wire guard. Burn or weave in thread ends.
