Prep thread & stop bead:
Add a stop bead to size 6 beading thread; use a size 11 needle. Start by stringing an 11/0, a 6 mm pearl, another 11/0, then your first IrisDuo.
Form the first base unit (subtle RAW):
Arrange the first Iris Duo so the correct hole/orientation faces up, add an 11/0, a pearl, an 11/0, then pass back through the first pearl to close the unit (this creates a right-angle-weave square with pearls/Iris Duo).
Crisscross the center:
From the first pearl, add 3× 11/0, then 11/0–drop–11/0 (drops are ~3×4 mm; an 8/0 can substitute), then 3× 15/0. Stitch from the top of the first pearl to the bottom of the next pearl to pull the crisscross across the middle.
Lock the crisscross:
Add 3× 11/0, pass back through the existing 11/0–drop–11/0, add 3× 11/0, and return to the first pearl to secure the “package.”
Build the base to length:
For each new segment: exit a pearl → add 11/0 → add the next IrisDuo (alternate which hole so flats face down/rounded side up) → add 11/0 → add a pearl → repeat the crisscross (Step 3–4). Continue creating units until bracelet length is reached.
Attach first clasp end & reinforce:
At the end: add 11/0–drop–3×15/0–11/0, go into the clasp, then back down through the same 11/0 and mirror the seed sequence on the other side into the pearl. Make 2–3 reinforcing passes through all beads leading to the clasp.
Remove stop bead & secure tails:
Take off the stop bead, tie the starter tails together (after reinforcing the clasp area), and weave in.
Step up to second holes for side drops:
From a pearl, add 15/0–drop–15/0, then stitch “backwards” to join the two groups of 15/0s flanking the pearl so the drop sits correctly. Exit to the next IrisDuo’s second hole and repeat.
Repeat side embellishment down the length:
Continue 15/0–drop–15/0 between IrisDuos, joining the 15/0 groups by the pearls each time. You’ll see a neat diagonal/V-shaped line along the edges.
Finish, knot, and burn:
At the far end, reinforce once more through 11/0–drop–15/0s–clasp path, tie small weaver’s knots as you travel, then trim/melt tails with a thread burner for a clean finish.
