Quick Project Steps

Making your own jewelry is a fun and rewarding experience. With just a few materials, you can create these beautiful Double Dutch earrings by Anna Tonnesen. This PotomacBeads tutorial will show you how to use a right angle weave technique, as well as netting and other basic beading skills, to make your own one-of-a-kind earrings.
To begin the Double Dutch earring design you will be making the bottom of the two windmills. Put a stop bead on the thread leaving enough of a tail to tie a knot. Thread on 3 drops with a seed bead in between each and tie into a circle. Use the seed beads to decorate the front. You could make these earrings as a single windmill instead of the double dutch.
Connect the beads at the front by sewing the blue beads around in the circle. Thread around again adding a 15/0 in between each set to hide the thread and form a triangle. Flip it over and repeat. Take off the stop bead and tie off the thread.
Follow along with the Double Dutch earrings tutorial for the complete instructions. Use the netting technique to attach the ear post, or add a loop to put an earwire if you'd prefer.
These earrings are not only stylish, but they're also unique. So, if you're looking for a new accessory to add to your wardrobe, then double dutch earrings are a great choice. With this fun design, you can use the colors of your choice to match your style. PotomacBeads has a huge selection of colors to choose from, so you can find the perfect match for you.
