  • Miyuki 11/0 - duracoat opaque moody blue, 34 beads

  • Quick Project Steps

Step 1: Preparing the Thread and Pearl Cut a piece of Dragonthread (about half a wingspan). Thread the needle and string the 6mm pearl. Create thread bridges around the pearl by passing the needle through it four times, ensuring there are two thread strands on each side. Step 2: Brick Stitch Start the brick stitch with Miyuki 15/0 seed beads. Pick up two beads and pass the needle under the thread bridge, then back up through the second bead. Continue adding single beads, passing under the thread bridge, and then back up through each new bead. Aim to fit 12 beads around the pearl, but adjust to 11 if necessary. Step 3: Adding Embellishments Add 11/0 seed beads around the pearl using a similar brick stitch method. If you end up with an odd number, use smaller beads to ensure a snug fit. Step 4: Creating the Pico Create a pico on the first bead by picking up three 11/0 beads and passing back through the first bead. Continue adding beads around the pearl, creating a decorative edge. Step 5: Attaching the Wire Guard and Ear Nut Attach the wire guard by passing the thread through both sides of the guard. Attach the ear nut, ensuring it faces the correct direction. Reinforce the connection by passing the thread through the beads and guard multiple times. Step 6: Finishing the Earring Secure the thread by tying knots and trimming the excess. Repeat the process for the second earring.
